Delivering trusted data at the right time is one of the most important business capabilities. “Data must be delivered fast to serve business and customer needs. In addition, trust in data is essential for the right decisions and customer experiences. Namely, you can not make a good decision if data is not there or you have wrong data,” Natalia Halicka, Manager for CEE & CIS, Talend.
Natalia Halicka was our guest at our free professional event Advance Your Data Journey, where we introduced Talend’s data management solutions. Talend, founded in 2005, is a leader for data integration, recognized by Gartner, the world’s leading research and advisory company. Talend collects data virtually from any source and securely prepares it for analysis with any data warehouse.
Unified environment, native code generation, build-in data quality and self-service data access are key factors to collect data, govern, transform and share data, she explained the benefits of Talend and presented various case studies. For example, Lenovo found out that when they are selling online, customers couldn’t select accessories for laptops, because it was too much choice. So with the help of Talend tools Lenovo found out what customers buy so they could recommend them the right accessories.
Following the event, Luca Tamburrano, Expert Solution Engineer, presented the technical side of Talend’s solutions. Step by step he introduced Data Hub and Data Catalog, following a live demo.
We were pleased that our guests also recognized the benefits of Talend’s solutions:
“We are exploring alternative data warehouse platforms. The platform we are using is quite outdated, so we would like to renovate this business area. We have found that for some pressing problems there are better solutions than we already know. Our challenges lie primarily in storing and operating data; we have too few automated processes, and we would also like to deliver information in a nicer way.”
Emir Mustifić from SIJ – Slovenian Steel Group.
“We were mainly interested in Data Dictionary, Glossary and Data Catalog. We are currently implementing Data Catalog and we are looking for solutions in this area. We are using SAS in some analytical fields, but Talend’s Data Catalog convinced us today.”
Erik Pipan, Intesa Sanpaolo Bank
